Cheers to My Class! Our Last Week In Second Grade!

As the excitement to be third graders began to build, so did the
nervousness for my class.  I wanted our last week together
to be a special one, to strengthen their confidence, and give
my second graders a special send-off they'd never forget!

Admittedly, I planned a busy week for us on top of
an already busy week, but I managed to pull it off
and my class loved every second of it!

We worked on and off all week on our superhero
memory books in between end of the year
events and festivities.

Not only did my kiddos write about the highlights of our year
in their memory books but also the power of our words,
kindness, laughter, friendship and respect.

We made thank you cards and special awards for all of our
parent helpers, office staff, and specials teachers.

We even delivered them wearing our capes!

They were always just the JOLT we needed
and we couldn't have done without their superpowers!

I received lots of  wonderful cards and
precious treasures myself, too.

"Girlfriend, you are the best."

I love the sassy ones! They always give me a run for my
money, but it's them I miss the most!

During the week we talked about all we had accomplished
and I gushed about how proud I was of them all.
We made these super hero boys and girls and wrote
all about our goals, accomplishments, and how we
developed our learning superpowers.

By Wednesday, it was time for our award ceremony!

I made special Super Hero Awards for
each of my students and pulled out my fake microphone.
My class knows when I pull out the microphone something
BIG is about to happen! One of my sweeties said,
"This is like the kid Oscars!"
"You bet!" I said. (Mission accomplished)

Super Hero Awards
Each of my superheroes was given one of
these brag tags and I dramatically placed one around
everybody's neck as they accepted their award.

On our second to last day I surprised
my students with this when they came in.
Everybody took turns taking last day pictures
by themselves and with their friends.

Super Hero Last Day Photo Booth

Our last day of second grade had finally arrived.
I gave each student a last day keepsake card
with a special message inside.

Now, I know this isn't a realistic life lesson,
but in my room, with my class, on our last day of second grade,
